A trip to the grooming salon can feel overwhelming for a young puppy. New surroundings, unfamiliar sounds and different handling can all be a lot to take in at once.

​The puppy grooming package includes four structured introduction sessions, suitable from two weeks after their final vaccinations up to six months old.

All grooming is carried out on a one-to-one basis, ensuring your puppy has my full attention throughout. Nothing is ever forced, I work with your puppy, not against them.

What’s Included in the 4-Visit Puppy Grooming Package?
Visit 1: Initial Consultation (up to 30 minutes)
The first session is a gentle introduction and consultation, where we discuss your puppy’s needs, health and plan for future visits. Your puppy will not be groomed during this session.
Instead, they are given time to explore the salon freely, becoming familiar with the environment, smells and sounds in a calm, relaxed way. Free Work is introduced using toys, treats and different surfaces, allowing your puppy to move around at their own pace while I observe how they are coping.
This first visit helps your puppy begin to build confidence, experience the salon positively and start to feel comfortable being away from home in a new environment.

Visit 2: Puppy Introduction Session (up to 30 minutes)
Building on the first session, your puppy is gently introduced to more elements of the grooming environment, including equipment, tools and handling. Free Work continues, allowing your puppy to explore and engage at their own pace.
This session helps identify what your puppy is comfortable with and where they may need more support. Guidance is also provided to support their progress at home.

Visit 3: Introducing Grooming Basics (30–60 minutes)
Building on the previous sessions, your puppy is gently introduced to the early stages of grooming. This may include elements such as a partial bath, towel drying, and careful handling of areas like the feet, face and hygiene areas.
Desensitisation and positive techniques are used to help your puppy become more comfortable with grooming tools such as dryers, clippers and scissors, always working at a pace that feels right for them.

Visit 4: Introducing a Full Groom (60 minutes)
Building on the previous sessions, your puppy is introduced to a more complete groom. This may include bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, hygiene clipping and light trimming around the eye area.
Each step is carried out gently, using an approach that suits your puppy.
Progress is always guided by your puppy. If they are not yet settled with certain elements, it may be recommended to revisit earlier stages to help build confidence before moving forward.
Ongoing guidance is also provided on how you can continue supporting your puppy at home.

Continuing Your Puppy’s Grooming Journey
Completing the puppy grooming package is just the beginning of your puppy’s grooming journey. By this stage, your puppy will have built confidence and familiarity with the grooming process.
To maintain this progress, regular dog grooming is recommended. A consistent schedule helps your puppy continue to feel at ease, while keeping their coat comfortable and manageable.
Guidance can be given on the most suitable grooming schedule moving forward, helping you keep your dog confident and well maintained long-term.
